Whats on the agenda newsfeed

As the Primary Election is on Tuesday, June 6, the next Common Council meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 7. The meeting will include assessment hearings that are required for several capital improvements that were completed in 2019.

The council will hold hearings and consider several resolutions related to parking. These proposed ordinances would allow for resident commuter parking in the Post Office lot, increase non-resident commuter parking fees and establish a reservation platform, change parking times on Morris Avenue between Elm Street and Maple Street for pre-paid employee parking, increase meter fees for three-hour, five-hour, and 12-hour parking, and update fees related to reserving spaces for dumpsters or construction.

There are also resolutions for consideration. There are several housekeeping financial resolutions that are statutorily required after adoption of the municipal budget on May 16. Resolutions to authorize liquor license renewals and a liquor license transfer will be considered. A resolution will be introduced to execute an agreement with New Providence to pave Division Avenue. Finally, other resolutions would authorize the lease of a new firetruck and the submission of grants related to public safety including an annual submission for the Bulletproof Vest Partnership through the Department of Justice.
