Donation Guidelines

Please review these guidelines before bringing items to the Summit Free Market. If you have any questions about what items are/are not accepted, please send us an email.

Please note, donations are only accepted during Summit Free Market events; there are no separate drop-off times. Click here to view the schedule of events.

A few things to keep in mind:

  1. All donations must be sorted prior to your visit to the Summit Free Market. Miscellaneous boxes will not be accepted.
  2. Items should be of at least yard-sale quality.
  3. No textiles of any kind are accepted.
  4. No books are accepted; books can be brought to the Book Barn at the Transfer Station.

Ask before you donate:

  • Have I plugged this in recently to make sure it works?
  • Is this item yard-sale quality?
  • Is this too dirty or broken to be cleaned and reused?
  • Have I sorted these items appropriately before drop-off?

Guidelines for electronics

Restricted items

  • Electronics more than five years old
  • CDs, records, and DVDs that are damaged, scratched, or out of their original packaging.
  • Any electronics that do not work
  • Loose used cords, remotes, and wires.

Accepted items

  • Working TVs and DVD players less than five years old.
  • Record players and working, packaged records.
  • New charging cables and extension cords in factory packaging.
