Title: Council President, Ward 2 Councilmember


Office Hours: Mondays 3PM-5PM in the Council Conference Room, located on the first floor of City Hall at 512 Springfield Avenue

Claire Toth has spent her career in tax law and wealth management, working for organizations as diverse as the U.S. Treasury Department and Peapack Private. Throughout, her focus has been on privately held businesses and their owners. Claire has written prolifically and spoken frequently on these topics.

A resident of Summit since 1996, Claire and her husband David Dietze raised their children here. All along, Claire has volunteered for Summit. She has been a board member (and usually Treasurer) of the Summit Educational Foundation, Summit Downtown, Inc., and SAGE Eldercare. Claire has served on the finance committees of Family Promise, Impact 100 Garden State, and St. Teresa of Avila Parish. She has sat on the city’s Historic Preservation Commission and the Zoning Board. Claire actively volunteers with GRACE and the Christ Child Society.

In recognition of her contributions, Claire has been honored with the Patriot’s Path Council’s Distinguished Citizen award, the Suburban Chamber of Commerce’s Silver Service award, and NJBIZ’s Leaders in Finance award.
