[ARCHIVED] Share your thoughts on the Summit Park Line Project

The City of Summit is announcing a public workshop meeting for the proposed Summit Park Line project will take place on Thursday, December 6 at 7PM at the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad on 1000 Summit Ave. in Summit.  All interested citizens are invited and encouraged to attend.

“To be successful, the possible development of the Summit Park Line, like other planning and development initiatives undertaken by the city, needs to be an inclusive process,” explains Summit Mayor Nora Radest. “Before additional phases of project are considered by Common Council, it is imperative that we gather community feedback. Please consider attending the workshop on December 6.”

The Summit Park Line is a proposed pedestrian park along the abandoned Rahway Valley Railroad line stretching between east Broad Street in Summit and Briant Park to the border of Springfield, NJ. Phase I of the project is nearing completion, extending between Broad Street and Morris Avenue near Overlook Medical Center. The purpose of the December 6 meeting will be to gather feedback from key stakeholders to include in potential future phases of Park Line development. At the beginning of the meeting, there will be a presentation on the project with ample opportunity for questions and input from the community.
