As part of the ongoing national water safety campaign during the summer months, the SFAC will provide Summit residents with water safety tips, educational programs and events, including hosting the World’s Largest Swim Lesson on Thursday, June 21. The World’s Largest Swim Lesson is a global event that will take place over the course of 24 hours at an estimated 600 locations in more than 20 countries.

Affordable swim lessons are available to members of the SFAC by certified swim instructors from Swim Quest. In addition to swimming skills, water-safety principles are taught. Private swim lessons are also available from certified water safety instructors throughout the SFAC season.

“Exposure to information on basic water safety is extremely important, especially during the summer months when people are more often in the water,” explains Judith Leblein Josephs, Director of Community Programs. “Learning to swim provides a lifelong foundation for drowning prevention. It is an important part of our mission at the SFAC to provide access for members of our community to water-safety skills.”
