[ARCHIVED] Red Flag Warning

November 7
A red flag warning has been issued for 8AM to 6PM on Friday, November 8, in certain parts of NJ, including Summit.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are expected or occurring. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels will create a significantly elevated fire growth potential.

The NJ Forest Fire Service is reporting that fire danger remains extreme across all of NJ. Stage 3 fire restrictions remain in effect statewide, which prohibits all fires in wooded areas unless contained in an elevated stove using only propane, natural gas, gas, or electricity. No charcoal fires are allowed.
