[ARCHIVED] Overnight milling and paving of Summit Avenue

June 14 update: Union County has advised the City of Summit Engineering Division that paving on Summit Avenue will begin on Thursday, June 15, and is expected to be complete on Tuesday, June 20, weather permitting.

Union County will begin milling and paving operations on Summit Avenue between Route 24 and Morris Avenue on Monday, June 12, 2023. Work will be performed overnight between the hours of 7PM and 6AM for approximately six nights, weather permitting. Work will include milling, paving, and striping of the road. Sections of Summit Avenue will be fully closed when crews are working in the area. Detours will be in effect and police will be onsite to direct traffic. Parking will be prohibited within the work zone on Summit Avenue during milling and paving operations. If it is necessary to leave cars on neighboring side streets overnight, please submit a request to the Summit Police Department online to avoid being ticketed.
