From Summit Police Chief Steven Zagorski: 

There have been several residential burglaries in Summit since December mostly in areas adjacent to the Route 24 corridor. In all cases, the burglaries were forced entries when the homes were unoccupied. Summit Police Department will continue its increased residential patrols and our Detective Bureau is working with a number of other agencies in the county who are investigating similar incidents. While we cannot divulge the details of these active investigations, we promise to continue to inform our residents if there is ever a threat to the public or active safety concern.
