Please be advised of a new policy at the Book Barn, effective immediately.
In an effort to keep the Book Barn enjoyable for visitors and manageable for Transfer Station staff, bulk donations of books should be placed in boxes clearly labeled "Book Drop" and placed by the door of the yellow garage on the lower level of the Transfer Station. Examples of large donations could include:
- Clearing out of a professional library
- A carload of books from an estate cleanout
- Multiple boxes of books in very poor/old condition
This will allow Transfer Station staff to easily move large amounts of unusable books into storage, keeping the Book Barn a neat and enjoyable place for residents to exchange and share books with each other, as intended. Please note, Book Drop boxes should not be left outside on rainy days. Thank you for your cooperation.
