The Summit Police Department is hosting a Home Security 101 program on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 7PM in Council Chamber at City Hall (512 Springfield Avenue). Members of the public are invited to attend this free event led by Officer Kotiga to learn the basics of home security and how to protect yourself from the most common vulnerabilities. Topics of discussion will include:
- Learn simple ways to protect your home and family
- Tips on securing doors, windows, and garages
- How lighting and landscaping can deter burglars
- Smart technology and security system guidelines
- Q&A session with Summit police officers
- Free resources and safety checklists provided
