[ARCHIVED] Notice to Residents: Potential Scam Letters

scam alert

We want to make residents aware that some individuals with active Zoning or Planning Board applications have reported receiving suspicious letters requesting wire transfers. These letters appear to come from the city but are not legitimate.

In a recent case, a resident received a fraudulent notice from someone impersonating a city staff member. This is not the first time this has occurred.

While the city does send official notices regarding outstanding escrow, they will always come directly from our office and include proper documentation. We never ask for wire transfers.

If you receive a letter that doesn’t look right, or if you’re unsure whether it’s from us, please give our office a call before taking any action.

Questions or concerns? Contact us at: 908-273-6407.

We appreciate your attention and cooperation.
