At its Tuesday, October 3 meeting, Summit Common Council approved the appointment of Phyllis Sank to fill the vacant Ward One position formerly held by Susan Hairston who resigned to pursue a fellowship opportunity at the University of Chicago. Councilmember Sank will serve the remainder of Ms. Hairston’s term ending in December 2023.
Councilmember Sank was sworn in on Wednesday, October 4 by Summit Mayor Nora Radest.
