City office closures

City offices will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2024.

Parking holidays
Monday, January 1, 2024, is a parking holiday in Summit with no fees required for on-street parking, or parking in municipal lots and garages. More information is available at cityofsummit.org/parking. 

Through Saturday, December 30, 2023, there are no fees required for parking at 90-minute on-street spaces, the Bank Street lot, and the first level of the Tier garage (for up to two hours). Time limits will be strictly enforced. Fees are still required in the Park and Shop lots on Deforest Avenue and in the YMCA/Library parking lot. 

Recycling and trash collection changes
There is no recycling collection on Monday, January 1, 2024. All collections during this week will be moved to the next day; Monday pickup will be on Tuesday, Tuesday pickup will be on Wednesday, and so on.

Recycling items should be placed at the curb by 6AM on the scheduled day for weekly pickup, or the night before. Please use the SeeClickFix app or the Report a Concern module on the city website to report missed pickups: cityofsummit.org/reportaconcern.

The household trash collection schedule does not change on holidays; it is picked up as usual. More information on trash and recycling is available at cityofsummit.org/recycle. 

Transfer Station closures
The regular schedule for the Municipal Transfer Station is Tuesday through Friday from 7:30AM to 3:45PM, and Saturday from 7:30AM to 4:45PM; it is closed on Sunday and Monday. The Transfer Station will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2024. More information is available at cityofsummit.org/transferstation.
