The next Common Council meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 5. At that meeting, council will hear an update from Chief Evers on the new firehouse construction project and hold a hearing on an ordinance to update parking fees at the Park & Ride lot near the train station.
Council will consider several resolutions. One resolution will address the Broad Street West Redevelopment Project. If adopted, the resolution terminates Summit’s conditional designation with Broad Street West Managers, LLC. Taking this step would end the relationship between the city and L&M and Toll Brothers. It formalizes the position that the city will no longer pursue a redevelopment agreement with them.
Other resolutions to be considered include authorization to apply for grant funding for an energy audit of city buildings, renewal of membership in joint purchasing systems and, pending closed session discussion, approves medical leave and staffing update.
