In anticipation of winter storm cleanup, the following city facilities will open later or close on Saturday, December 27. The City of Summit also advises residents to take necessary precautions to prepare for the storm, including charging mobile devices, locating batteries and flashlights, and gathering any necessary medications in advance.
Depending on the severity of the storm, residents are advised to avoid driving if possible. In the event of snowfall, residents are reminded to follow snow removal guidelines, including shoveling sidewalks and walkways within 24 hours of the end of snowfall, not shoveling snow into the roadway, and checking in on neighbors who may need assistance.
The following delayed openings and closures will be in effect on Saturday, December 27:
The Municipal Transfer Station will open at 12:00 PM.
The Summit Free Public Library will open at 1:00 PM.
The Community Center will be closed.
Please note that schedules may be adjusted depending on weather conditions. Residents should continue to monitor cityofsummit.org and official City communications for the most up-to-date information.
Thank you for your cooperation. Please stay safe.
