Activity blotter September 22 to October 5, 2025

09/22/2025—A 36-year-old female from Staten Island was arrested and charged with shoplifting stemming from a theft that occurred at a Springfield Avenue business on 06/06/25. The defendant was processed and transported to Union County Jail pending her court appearance date.

09/24/2025—At approximately 1105 hours, a 56-year-old male from Irvington was arrested and charged with aggravated assault from an incident that occurred inside a private residence. The defendant was processed and transported to Union County Jail pending his court appearance date.

09/25/2025— At approximately 0300 hours, patrol officers conducted a motor vehicle stop which resulted in the arrest of a 44-year-old male from Mountainside for two (2) outstanding ATS warrants out of Rahway and Newark. The defendant was processed and released with pending court dates.

09/25/2025—At approximately 0905 hours, a 52-year-old female from Summit was arrested and charged with aggravated assault from an incident that occurred at a private residence. The defendant was processed and transported to Union County Jail pending her court appearance date.

09/26/2025—At approximately 2231 hours, patrol officers conducted a motor vehicle stop which resulted in the arrest of a 36-year-old male from New Brunswick for an outstanding ATS warrant out of Newark. The defendant was processed and released with a pending court date.

09/27/2025—At approximately 1121 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Beechwood Road business. The victim stated that prior to the theft, she was sitting in the outdoor dining area with her tote bag on the back of her chair. A short time later, while at another establishment in Maplewood, she discovered her wallet was no longer in her bag. The wallet contained multiple credit cards and approximately $150-$250 in cash.

10/01/2025 – A 44-year-old male from Summit was charged on a summons for a simple assault that occurred on 09/24/2025. He has a pending court appearance date.

10/04/2025—At approximately 0930 hours, patrol officers conducted a motor vehicle stop which resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old male from Irvington for three (3) outstanding ATS warrants out of East Orange, Andover Township, and Mountainside. The defendant was processed and released with pending court dates.

10/04/2025—At approximately 1501 hours, a 56-year-old-male from Summit was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a Parking Enforcement Officer. The defendant was processed and released with a pending court date.

10/04/2025— At approximately 2203 hours, patrol officers conducted a motor vehicle stop which resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old male from Millburn for an outstanding ATS warrant out of Maplewood Township. The defendant was processed and released with a new municipal court date.

10/05/2025—At approximately 0430 hours patrol officers responded to Kent Place Boulevard between Morris Avenue and High Street for a report of a stolen vehicle that just occurred from a residence. Prior to arrival, the caller informed dispatch she heard the engine of her 2016 white Jaguar F-type start while parked in the driveway. The victim then reportedly ran downstairs, looked out her window, and saw her vehicle, as well as a blue car, traveling East on Kent Place Boulevard towards Morris Avenue. It was at that point she dialed 911. On-scene investigation revealed the victim’s spare key was left unsecured inside the vehicle for servicing prior to the theft. Furthermore, during a canvass of the area, patrol officers located an unoccupied 2016 blue Hyundai parked in the middle of Morris Avenue near Bedford Road. Although not reported stolen at the time, an investigation revealed the vehicle’s ignition was damaged. The vehicle was subsequently impounded for processing.
