The City of Summit has confirmed with Overlook Medical Center that its recent generator use is part of a planned transfer of electrical load to support the replacement of its electrical infrastructure. This critical work is essential to ensuring uninterrupted power for patient care. The project will require the generator to run intermittently over the next two weeks. The hospital has shared the following upcoming schedule:
- Monday, October 6 (daytime) – generator use required
- Wednesday, October 8 (daytime) – generator use required
In response to community feedback, Overlook is also bringing back its acoustical engineer to re-measure decibel levels and help ensure their equipment meets acceptable noise thresholds.
The city appreciates Overlook’s cooperation in addressing these concerns. We will continue to monitor the situation and share updates as they become available.
Thank you for your understanding and continued engagement on this matter.
