Activity blotter August 25 to September 7, 2025

08/27/2025—At approximately 2113 hours, patrol officers arrested a 32-year-old male from Summit for disorderly conduct. The defendant was processed and released with a pending municipal court date.

08/29/2025—At 0831 hours a report was taken for a stolen motor vehicle parked at an Oak Ridge Avenue residence. Surveillance camera footage captured an unknown male actor enter an unlocked 2023 black BMW X5 at approximately 1730 hours on 08/28/2025. The suspect then drove eastbound on Oak Ridge Avenue followed closely by a grey Honda Accord. The BMW has since been recovered.

08/29/2025—At approximately 2152 hours, patrol officers conducted a motor vehicle stop which resulted in the arrest of a 64-year-old male from West Orange for an outstanding traffic warrant out of Elizabeth. The defendant was processed and released with a court date.

08/29/2025—At approximately 0214 hours, patrol officers conducted a motor vehicle stop which resulted in the arrest of a 31-year-old female from Newark for two (2) outstanding traffic warrants out of Rahway and Readington Twp. The defendant was processed and released with pending court dates.

09/01/2025—At approximately 1538 hours, a 38-year-old male from Summit was arrested and charged with aggravated assault for an incident that took place earlier that day. The defendant was processed and transported to Union County Jail.

09/03/2025—At approximately 2149 hours, a 62-year-old male from Summit was arrested and charged with aggravated assault for an incident that took place on 06/09/2025. The defendant was processed and transported to Essex County Jail.

09/04/2025—At 1103 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a restaurant on Springfield Avenue. The victim stated that on 09/03/2025 at 1900 hours they mistakenly left their purse behind after a meal at the establishment. Upon realizing they left their purse, they contacted the business and was advised no one turned in a purse. Taken was an Adidas crossbody bag containing a Bandolier compact wallet, a $100.00 bill, NJ driver’s license, and medical insurance cards, all estimated to be worth $274.00.

09/06/2025—At approximately 2341 hours, patrol officers responded to a restaurant on Springfield Avenue for a disorderly male inside the establishment fighting with a security guard. Upon arrival, a 68-year-old male from Morristown was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, lewdness, and disorderly conduct. The defendant was processed and transported to Essex County Jail.
