06/02/2025—A 31-year-old female from Summit was arrested and charged with simple assault. The defendant was processed and released with a pending superior court date.

06/03/2025—A 27-year-old male from Summit was arrested and charged with 2nd degree aggravated assault. The defendant was processed and transported to Essex County Jail pending a court appearance.

06/06/2025—A 27-year-old male from Summit was arrested and charged with contempt of court. The defendant was processed and transported to Essex County Jail pending a court appearance.

06/06/2025—At 1057 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Springfield Avenue business. The store manager stated just prior to contacting police, an unknown female actor exited the store with unpaid merchandise. Multiple clothing items were taken, valued at $750.00.

06/08/2025—At 0836 hours a report was taken for an attempted motor vehicle theft at a Russell Place residence. The victim stated at approximately 0317 hours their Ring camera captured an unknown male actor attempt to enter their 2025 BMW X7. After the failed attempt, the suspect fled to a dark colored SUV and left the area.

06/09/2025—At 0235 hours all units responded to a burglary in progress at a Larned Road residence. Upon arrival, an on-scene investigation was conducted, and surveillance footage showed the suspect vehicle pull in front of the residence and remain idle while one (1) suspect exited and attempted to gain entry into a 2025 BMW X6, which was parked and locked in the driveway. After identifying the vehicle was locked, they proceeded to the back yard where they located an unsecured door, gaining access into the residence. It was at this time the resident(s) woke up from the door chime and the suspects fled from the scene. Nothing was reported stolen, nor was there contact between the suspect(s) and the resident(s) during the incident.

06/10/2025—At 1119 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Summit Avenue business. The caller stated video surveillance footage caught an unknown female actor place an item in her purse and exit the store. An Addi Bamboo Interchangeable Needle Set was taken, valued at $200.00.

06/12/2025—A 42-year-old male from Union was arrested and charged with shoplifting. The defendant was processed and transferred to another police department for an outstanding warrant out of their jurisdiction.
