Join the Summit Department of Community Programs to celebrate 100 years of recreation in Summit, on Thursday, June 26, from 6:30PM to 10PM at the Summit Elks Lodge, located at 40 Maple Street in Summit.
On July 7, 1925, Summit Common Council and Mayor Walter S. Topping established the Board of Recreation, and the first Board of Recreation meeting was held on July 25, 1925. Today, that legacy continues through the Department of Community Programs (DCP), which provides recreation and community services that meet the needs of residents, with a special focus on youth and seniors.
Event tickets are available for purchase online for $75 each. The purchase of a ticket includes dinner and beverages. This event will also include a paddle raise to support fundraising for Tatlock Playground. Additional donation opportunities for Tatlock Playground are available on the DCP website.
More information about this event is available on the DCP website. Please contact DCP with any questions at 908-277-2932 or visit www.summitcommunityprograms.com.
