The City of Summit is hosting the second annual Women’s History Month event on Sunday, March 23, from 12PM to 3PM at the Summit Community Center located at 100 Morris Ave. The free event is open to all members of the public.

The event will begin with a luncheon and dance party from 12PM to 1PM. Summit women of all ages are invited to attend and bring any family members, friends, or other important women in their lives. All attendees are encouraged to bring a photo of a woman who has inspired them and share their chosen photo and individual with the group and place their photo on the Wall of Inspiration.

During this portion of the event, attendees will hear words of inspiration from some of Summit’s most impactful women, including Mayor Elizabeth Fagan and Sergeant Kathy Maggiulli, the Summit Police Department’s first female officer to attain the rank of supervisor. The film Hidden Figures will be shown after the luncheon and dance party.

This event is free and open to all residents; pre-registration is required through CivicRec, or via email to dguidajr@cityofsummit.org or by phone at 908-277-2932.

Please contact the Department of Community Programs at 908-277-2932 with any questions.
