In celebration of Local Government Week, the City of Summit invites residents to the City of Summit Showcase on Thursday, April 10, from 3PM to 5PM at fire headquarters, located at 281 Broad Street.
This interactive event is an opportunity for residents to connect with the dedicated individuals who work hard every day to keep Summit running smoothly. Residents of all ages are invited to attend and get an inside look at the new firehouse, explore a fire truck, check out police gear, and meet city officials from various departments such as trash collection and parking to finance, community programs, and more.
Event Highlights:
- Tour the new firehouse, see a fire truck up close, and meet Summit firefighters
- Discover police equipment and meet Summit police officers
- Learn about key city services and meet city staff and officials
- Learn about volunteer opportunities with city boards, committees, and commissions
- Enjoy fun, interactive activities for the whole family
- Take home Summit swag and prizes
“I encourage everyone to attend this interactive event and get to know the many faces of our local government,” says Mayor Elizabeth Fagan, MD. “Summit would not be the wonderful place we know and love without the dedication and service of our city staff and volunteers. This event is an opportunity to connect with those individuals and learn about the many ways the city works for you.”
