Activity blotter February 10 to 23, 2025
02/10/2025--At approximately 0358 hours the Summit Police Department received a call from a Larned Road resident who reported three actors had forced entry into the residence. One actor gained entry through a window facing Ashland Rd, and then the homeowner witnessed them opening the front door for the other two individuals. All three actors exited the residence when they encountered the homeowner (approximately 3:59 AM), stealing a women’s jacket and purse (combined value of approximately $100). No key fobs were taken, and a 2022 blue BMW X5, which was parked in the driveway at the time, remained locked and undisturbed by the actors.
02/10/2025--At approximately 0403 hours received a call from a Colony Dr resident who reported three actors had forced entry into the residence through the front glass door. The actors stole three key fobs and proceeded to enter and take one of the vehicles parked in the driveway, a 2024 Range Rover. The other two vehicles, whose key fobs were stolen by the actors, were not stolen. Summit Police Detectives responded to the call and ultimately worked with NYPD who subsequently recovered the stolen Range Rover in the Bronx.
02/10/2025—A 36-year-old male from Camden was arrested for an outstanding ATS warrant out of Franklin Township. The defendant was processed and released with a pending court date.
02/17/2025—A 25-year-old female from Irvington was arrested for an outstanding ATS warrant out of Edison Township. The defendant was processed and subsequently turned over to Edison PD.
02/17/2025—At 1413 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Broad Street business. The caller stated that on 2/16/25 video surveillance captured two unknown actors take a bottle of alcohol and exit the business without purchasing the merchandise. Taken was one bottle of Don Julio Reposado, valued at approximately $40.
02/18/2025—At 1605 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a construction site on Ridge Road. The victim stated that sometime during the overnight hours multiple power tools were stolen. The total monetary value is approximately $2800.
02/20/2025—At 1631 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Beekman Terrace residence. The victim stated that sometime earlier in the day, two packages that were delivered were stolen from their front porch. Taken were multiple Apple iPads, valued at $1200.
02/21/2025—A 70-year-old female from Linden was arrested for an outstanding ATS warrant out of Madison Township. The defendant was processed and released with a pending court date.
02/21/2025 – At approximately 0556 hours the Summit Police Department received a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on Greenbriar Drive. Further investigation revealed that at approximately 0140 hours two (2) males exited a white Range Rover SUV, which was idle in the street with at least one (1) occupant in the driver’s seat. The suspects then proceeded up the driveway where they located an unlocked white 2025 Infiniti QX80. The suspects utilized a garage door opener, which was inside the Infiniti, to gain access to the interior basement level of the residence. The suspects remained in the residence for approximately five minutes gathering valuables before one (1) suspect exited with two (2) purses, a coat, and several other miscellaneous items. The other suspect exited with the keys to the Infiniti. The first suspect returned to the getaway Range Rover waiting in the street and the other proceeded to steal the Infiniti. A third vehicle can be seen driving on Greenbriar Drive as the suspects left the residence; however, it is unclear as to whether or not it is involved at this time. There was no interaction between the homeowners and suspects while inside the residence, and at this time it does not appear that the suspects proceeded to any other level while inside the house. It also appears that one of the suspects was carrying a pistol when he made entry into the house.
02/21/2025--At approximately 0858 hours the Summit Police Department responded to a residence on Blackburn Road near Twombly Drive for a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. Further investigation revealed that at approximately 01:15am, three (3) suspects exited a white Range Rover SUV, which remained idle in the roadway, and proceeded up the driveway where a 2022 Mercedes Benz SUV and 2019 Audi SUV were parked. One (1) of the suspects entered the Audi, which was unlocked; however, they were unable to steal it as the key fob was not in the vehicle. Another suspect attempted to enter the Mercedes, but it was locked. There was no attempt to enter the house, and all three (3) suspects ran back to the Range Rover which then fled the area. According to the resident, nothing was taken from the Audi.
02/21/2025--At approximately 0926 hours the Summit Police Department responded to a residence on West End Avenue for a report of a burglary. Further investigation revealed that at approximately 0741 hours a house-sitter arrived on scene to care for pets. At that time, a white, older-model Ford Econoline van with a possible Pennsylvania license plate can be seen parked, idling across the street near a vacant house under construction. After caring for the pets and checking the residence, the house-sitter left at 0757 hours. At approximately 0856 hours a male wearing dark colored pants and a utility vest can be seen walking down the driveway, next to the Ford van which was being operated by another suspect. The suspect(s) then proceeded to forcefully remove the electrical meter from the side of the house, resulting in a power outage. Entry was made through a back door where the suspect(s) pushed in the windowpane of the back door. The suspect(s) then proceeded to ransack several areas of the house in search of valuables. At this time an inventory is being conducted and proceeds for the burglary are unknown.
02/21/2025—At 0957 hours a report was taken for theft from a motor vehicle that occurred at a Windsor Road residence. The victim stated video surveillance footage showed an unknown male actor enter their unlocked vehicle at 0130 hours. Taken was a black Carhartt winter jacket, valued at $100.
02/22/2025—A 70-year-old male from Linden was arrested for an outstanding ATS warrant out of Madison Township. The defendant was processed and released with a pending court date.
02/22/2025—At 0925 hours a report was taken for a burglary into a motor vehicle parked at a Tulip Street residence. The victim stated that sometime during the overnight hours an unknown actor entered their unlocked vehicle and rummaged through the center console. At the time of the report nothing was noted as taken.
