The Summit Police Department is sharing information on two residential burglaries that occurred earlier this morning. The three actors in both incidents were described as males wearing dark, hooded sweatshirts.
At approximately 3:58 AM on Monday, February 10, SPD received a call from a Larned Rd resident who reported three actors had forced entry into the residence. One actor gained entry through a window facing Ashland Rd, and then the homeowner witnessed them opening the front door for the other two individuals. All three actors exited the residence when they encountered the homeowner (approximately 3:59 AM), stealing a women’s jacket and purse (combined value of approximately $100). No key fobs were taken, and a 2022 blue BMW X5, which was parked in the driveway at the time, remained locked and undisturbed by the actors.
At approximately 4:03 AM on Monday, February 10, SPD received a call from a Colony Dr resident who reported three actors had forced entry into the residence through the front glass door. The actors stole three key fobs and proceeded to enter and take one of the vehicles parked in the driveway, a 2024 Range Rover. The other two vehicles, whose key fobs were stolen by the actors, were not stolen. Summit Police Detectives responded to the call and ultimately worked with NYPD who subsequently recovered the stolen Range Rover in the Bronx.
As always, please remain vigilant, lock all doors and windows, and contact the Summit Police Department to report any suspicious activity.
