At approximately 2:40PM on Thursday, October 24, 2024, Summit Police arrested a 15-year-old juvenile female from Newark, charging her with unlawful possession of a weapon, which was identified as an air soft gun.

The arrest occurred after police responded to a Mount Vernon Ave. home to investigate a reported dispute involving the resident and the suspect.

Two other individuals, a juvenile and an adult, who accompanied the suspect to the residence, were briefly detained by police and subsequently released without charges, pending further investigation.

Following processing, the juvenile female was released to the custody of her mother.
