Police activity blotter for September 23 to October 6, 2024

09/23/2024—Session Reyes, 31, of Summit was arrested for multiple warrants out of Plainfield. Mr. Reyes was processed and transported to Plainfield Police Department.

09/23/2024—Calvin Scott, 55, of Summit was arrested for multiple outstanding warrants out of Union Township and Raritan Borough. Mr. Scott was processed and released with a pending court date.

09/25/2024—At 1416 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Maple Street business. The victim stated that two female actors took several items and left the building without purchasing them. Various items were taken and included pants, shirts, bags, and jackets, totaling $2,000.

09/27/2024—Nikyia Smith, 36, of Staten Island was arrested and charged with shoplifting and having an active warrant out of Elizabeth. Ms. Smith was processed and transported to Union County Jail.

09/27/2024—Tiffany Asia Singleton, 37, of Staten Island was arrested and charged with shoplifting and having an active warrant out of Tinton Falls. Ms. Singleton was processed and released with a pending court date.

09/29/2024—At 0433 hours a report was taken for an attempted motor vehicle theft that occurred at a Springfield Avenue residence. The victim stated that at 0407 hours on 09/29/24, video surveillance footage showed two male subjects attempt to gain access to their white 2018 Honda Accord parked in the driveway. The suspects vacated the area after they were unable to gain access to the locked vehicle. At the time of the report no damage was observed to the vehicle.

09/30/2024—At 0945 hours a report was taken for an attempted motor vehicle theft that occurred at a Waldron Avenue residence. The victim stated that at 0400 hours on 09/30/24, video surveillance footage showed two male subjects attempt to enter their 2022 Mercedes CLA parked in the driveway. The suspects fled onto Waldron Avenue in an unknown direction after their attempt to enter the vehicle was unsuccessful. At the time of the report no damage was observed to the vehicle.

09/30/2024—At 1142 hours a report was taken for an attempted motor vehicle theft that occurred at a Canoe Brook Parkway residence. The victim stated that at 0350 hours on 09/30/24, video surveillance footage showed two male subjects enter and attempt to start their white 2024 BMW X7. The suspects fled the area in a dark colored sedan. At the time of the report nothing was noted taken or damaged.

10/04/2024—Jordan Canales, 25, of Irvington was arrested for shoplifting and having multiple outstanding warrants out of several jurisdictions. Ms. Canales was processed and transported to Essex County Jail.

10/04/2024—At 1824 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Springfield Avenue business. The victim stated that just prior to contacting police, two unknown individuals, one male and one female, left the business without purchasing multiple items. Six bottles of Tom Ford perfume were taken, valued at $2,000 in total.

10/05/2024—At 0757 hours police units responded to Ashland Road for an attempted motor vehicle theft in progress. The victim stated that just prior to contacting police, they observed an unknown male actor in the passenger seat of their blue 2022 BMW X3. The suspect fled down the driveway when the resident approached the vehicle. At the time of the report nothing was noted taken or damaged.

10/05/2024—At 0823 hours a report was taken for a theft from a motor vehicle located on Blackburn Road. The victim stated that during the overnight hours an unknown individual entered their black 2022 BMW X7. Taken was a black leather Chanel pouch-style wallet containing multiple credit cards and $20 cash. At the time of the report no damage was observed to the vehicle and nothing else was noted as taken.
