3/26/2024—Roy Gutierrez-Fernand, 52, of Summit was arrested and charged with simple assault. Mr. Gutierrez-Fernand was processed and released with a pending court date.
3/26/2024—At 1024 hours, a report was taken for the theft of an unsecured motor vehicle that was parked at residence on Canoe Brook Parkway. The victim stated that the theft occurred sometime during the overnight hours. Video footage captured an unknown individual exiting a black four-door sedan and entering the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle was then seen pulling out of the driveway and heading northbound towards Rt. 24. The stolen vehicle is a gray 2018 BMW X5, valued at approximately $30,000.
4/1/2024—At 1005 hours, a report of a theft was taken at a business on Springfield Avenue. The victim reported that several aluminum outdoor benches had been stolen sometime during the overnight hours. The estimated value of the theft is approximately $300.
4/1/2024—At 1735 hours, a report of a theft was taken at a business on Springfield Avenue. An employee reported that a white female approximately in her 40s, 5’2” tall and weighing 160 pounds, walked out of the store without paying for eight boxes of cigarettes. The stolen items included four packs of Newport 100’s and four packs of Marlboro 100’s. The total value of the theft was $101.60.
4/5/2024—At 0115 hours, police were dispatched to a business on River Road in response to a reported attempted burglary in progress. The caller observed a white Audi sedan with tinted windows and dark rims parked in front of the business. Additionally, three males were seen exiting the vehicle; however, no further descriptions of their appearance or actions were provided. It was discovered the suspects attempted to break the front window but were unable to gain access to the building. At the time of the report no other damage or stolen items were noted.
4/7/2024—At 1944 hours, a burglary report was taken for a motor vehicle at a River Road facility. The victim stated that just prior to contacting police, they discovered the front passenger window shattered and items missing from inside the vehicle. The stolen items included a purse containing multiple credit cards, Ray-Ban sunglasses, and a scarf, with a total estimated value of approximately $400.
