Summit Police Department received a report of a burglary to a home on the 100 block of Ashland Road that occurred sometime between 12PM on Monday, January 29 and 4:45PM on Tuesday, January 30. The suspects gained entry to the kitchen in the back of the house by shattering a glass sliding door. The second-floor bedrooms were rummaged through, and an undetermined amount of jewelry was removed from the home. The residents were not home at the time of the incident. The Union County Sherriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit responded to process the scene. The incident is under investigation by the Summit Police Department Detective Bureau.
