At approximately 2:09AM on Thursday, December 21, 2023, police were dispatched to an activated residential alarm at an Oak Ridge Avenue residence.

Upon arrival, police units discovered the home had been unlawfully entered. The suspect used a crowbar to force open a kitchen window. The suspect rummaged through drawers in the kitchen and removed a wallet before fleeing the home once the alarm sounded. The suspect then entered a waiting dark colored SUV which sped away. The residents were in the house and asleep at the time.

Additional police units were dispatched to the area and searched for the suspect but were unable to locate them. Summit Police Detectives also responded to process the scene for evidence.

The incident is under investigation by the Summit Police Department Detective Bureau.
