Weekly blotter November 20 to December 3

11/20/2023—At 0702 hours a report was taken for a burglary that occurred at an Industrial Place business. The victim stated an unknown individual entered the business through an unsecured window and once they were inside the building a motion sensor activated the alarm system that alerted police. At the time of the report nothing was taken or rummaged through.

11/20/2023—At 0932 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Norwood Avenue residence. The victim stated someone entered an unsecured vehicle sometime during overnight hours. Taken was an Apple USB-C charging cable, valued at $20.

11/21/2023—At 1616 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Morris Avenue business. The victim stated security footage showed an unknown individual taking a beverage from a refrigerator and leaving without purchasing it. The individual in question is described as a white male with dark facial hair wearing a blue winter jacket and blue jeans. The value of the beverage was $5.

11/22/2023—Tesfai Ghebremariam, 57, of Irvington was arrested and charged with theft of credit cards and theft by deception. Mr. Ghebremariam was processed and released with a pending court date.

11/23/2023 – At 0702 hours a Whittredge Rd resident reported that two males attempted to unlawfully enter two vehicles that were parked in the driveway. The suspects apparently aborted the attempt when a car service pulled into the driveway. The suspects ran to the street and entered a waiting red sedan that sped away.

11/26/2023—William O’Connell, 19, of Summit was arrested and charged with criminal mischief. Mr. O’Connell was processed and released with a pending court date.

11/27/2023—At 1154 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Springfield Avenue residence. The victim stated two packages were taken from the residence between 11/24/23 and 11/27/2023. The total amount of the theft was approximately $150.

11/28/2023—At 1348 hours a report was taken for a stolen motor vehicle located at a Broad Street business. The victim stated a black 2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn Crew Cab 4x4 was stolen sometime between 11/21/23 and 11/28/23. The vehicle is valued at approximately $64,000.

11/29/2023—At 1500 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Morris Avenue business. The victim stated on 11/28/23 at 0150 hours a black male approximately 40 years old wearing a dark jacket and dark pants was seen putting merchandise in a bag and exiting the business without purchasing the merchandise, valued at $18.

11/29/2023—At 1534 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Knob Hill Drive residence. The victim stated that multiple packages were taken from the residence during the overnight hours. The total amount of the theft was approximately $100.

11/30/2023—At 1959 hours a report was taken for an attempted burglary to a residence on Londonderry Way. The attempt was aborted when the suspect attempted to force open a rear window to the residence and an alarm sounded. The suspect then fled the area.
