The PSE&G project to replace gas pipes throughout Summit is currently underway. Work is expected to be complete by early summer 2023 depending on project progress over the spring. Over the next week, crews will be replacing mains and services on the following streets in Summit, weather permitting:
Canoe Brook Parkway between Rose Lane and Morris Tpke
Tanglewood Drive between Ashland Road and Dale Drive
Sections of Woodland Avenue
Wade Drive from Hartley Road to end
Iris Road between River Road and Canoe Brook Parkway Road closures and detours will be in effect, and Summit police will be onsite to direct traffic. Work will take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 7AM and 5PM, weather permitting.
Daytime work on Springfield Avenue in downtown Summit
PSE&G will continue daily daytime work in downtown Summit on Springfield Avenue between Morris Avenue and Waldron Avenue from 7AM to 5PM next week. Crews will be working on Springfield Ave between Kent Place Blvd and Beechwood Road and will move east towards Waldron Ave. A single lane closure will be required.
