AAPI event
The second annual Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month event will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023. The free event will take place from 5PM to 10PM on the Village Green, located at 356 Broad Street. All citizens are invited to attend to celebrate and learn about AAPI culture.
The entertainment stage will feature performances from groups in different Asian communities, including Bollywood dance, Kung Fu, Bhangra, Indian dance, and more. The event will also include a Holi celebration and a ceremony to honor accomplishments of the AAPI community. Food will be available for purchase from Four Monkeys Indian Bistro, Krazy Chef, Noon Tea Creperie, and Szechuan Delight.
Several community organizations will set up displays highlighting different aspects of AAPI culture, with heritage showcases, outdoor games, and other activities. To set up a display, contact David Guida at dguidajr@cityofsummit.org.
The planning committee for this event includes members from the City of Summit, the Summit Chinese American Association, and volunteers from surrounding communities.
