Summit Police Department activity blotter for April 3 to April 16, 2023

4/07/2023—Fernando Fernandez, 42, of Queens was arrested and charged with shoplifting. Mr. Fernandez was processed and released with a pending court date.

4/14/2023—At 1806 hours a report was taken for a stolen vehicle that was parked at a Morris Avenue business. The victim stated they had parked their vehicle in the parking lot of the business at 1645 hours and returned at 1800 hours to find the vehicle missing. It was determined the vehicle was left unlocked with the key fob inside the vehicle. Taken was a blue 2019 BMW X5, valued at $46,000.

4/15/2023—At 0848 hours a report was taken for an attempted motor vehicle theft. The victim stated that their vehicle, which is described as a 2021 Range Rover, was entered and rummaged through during the overnight hours. The vehicle was unlocked and nothing was taken from the vehicle.
