The Summit Police Department has received reports of two separate, early morning burglary attempts at the same Hillcrest Avenue residence on Sunday, March 26 and Monday, March 27. Both incidents were captured on Ring security video.
The first attempt occurred at 4:54 AM on Sunday when a male wearing a hooded sweatshirt and face covering unsuccessfully attempted to enter a locked Range Rover that was parked in the driveway. The same male also attempted to enter a locked side door of the residence. Unable to gain entry to the residence or vehicle, the suspect ran down the driveway toward the street.

The second attempt occurred at 2:38 AM on Monday. A white sedan stopped in front of the residence and two males wearing hooded sweatshirts and face coverings exited the vehicle and ran up the driveway. The first male attempted to enter a locked front door and then ran back to the waiting vehicle. The second male unsuccessfully attempted to enter a locked Range Rover parked in the driveway. The same male also attempted to enter a locked side door of the residence. Unable to gain entry to the residence or the vehicle, the suspect returned to the waiting vehicle that fled toward Summit Avenue.

Please always remove keys and lock vehicles when parked and keep your residence secured, and report all suspicous activity to the Summit Police Department immediately.
