At the Common Council meeting on Tuesday, March 21, reports on city projects, events and other information will be provided by Mayor Radest, Administrator Rogers, and Council President Vartan. The 2022 Volunteer of the Year Award will be presented to Summit resident and business owner Donna Puzzella.
There will be two additional presentations. Mike Callahan, the Director of the Office of Homelessness Prevention with the NJ Dept of Community Affairs will update council on the work of his office and local organizations to address homelessness in NJ. Michael Coyle of PSE&G will provide an update on the major infrastructure project that is underway in Summit.
Council will continue the hearing from the last meeting on the ordinance to add a four-way stop at Prospect Street and Blackburn Road; a final vote will be cast. There are two additional ordinances being introduced with hearings to follow at the next meeting on Tuesday, April 4. One is related to the budget and the other would approve a Juneteenth parking holiday.
Council will consider several resolutions mostly related to the budget and personnel matters as well as one resolution authorizing the award of a bid for the road improvement project on Wildwood Lane and Oxbow Lane, and two other resolutions authorizing the submission of grant applications.
