Summit Police Department weekly blotter October 17 to October 23, 2022

10/17/2022—At 1936 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Springfield Avenue parking lot. The victim stated that between the hours of 0945 and 2200 on 10/14/2022 an unknown individual removed the front license plate from their blue 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The value of the plate is unknown.

10/20/2022—Lester Stewart, 61, of Roselle was arrested and charged with simple assault. Mr. Stewart was processed and released with a pending court date.

10/21/2022—At 1347 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Bedford Road residence. The victim stated that at 1000 hours on 10/21 they had placed items marked for donation in garbage bags and cardboard boxes on their front porch. At 1100 hours on 10/21 when representatives from the nonprofit organization arrived to retrieve the items, they realized the items had been removed by an unknown individual. The approximate value of all the items was $1000.

10/22/2022—At 0828 hours a report was taken for a burglary that occurred at a Hawthorne Place residence between 10/6/2022 and 10/22/2022. The victim stated that when they returned home from vacation, they observed that bedrooms were ransacked, and items were missing. At the time of the report an exact value for the stolen items was unknown.
