Summit Police Department weekly blotter August 15 to 21, 2022
8/18/2022—At 1137 hours a report was taken for a theft of a motor vehicle located at a Prospect Street business. The victim stated that as they were walking away from the van, they observed a man wearing a gray shirt and gray shorts enter the vehicle and drive off. The vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside. Taken was a white 2018 Ford Transit, valued at $30,000.
8/18/2022—At 1345 hours a report was taken for a theft from a motor vehicle parked on Badeau Avenue. The victim stated that between the dates of 8/16/22 and 8/17/22 an unknown individual entered the unlocked vehicle and stole cash from the center console. The total amount of the theft was $400.
8/21/2022—Kembly Sanchez-Umana, 38, of Linden was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. Ms. Sanchez-Umana was processed and released with a pending court date.
8/21/2022—At 1632 hours a report was taken for a theft from a Union Place business. The victim stated that a female juvenile stole food items and money from a tip jar and then exited the business. The total amount of the theft was approximately $11.
8/21/2022—At 1809 hours a report was taken for an armed robbery at a Morris Turnpike business. The victim stated that two armed male suspects wearing hoodies and face masks exited a black, four-door Audi and demanded money from a gas station attendant. The total amount taken was $95.
