An update from the Summit Police Department on two recent attempted vehicle thefts; both attempts were unsuccessful because vehicles were locked and keys were removed.

On Saturday, April 23 during late evening hours, an unlocked 2020 BMW X5 that was parked on Tulip Street was entered and rummaged through. The key fob was not in the vehicle, and it was not stolen.

On 9:30AM Sunday morning, a Hillcrest Avenue resident observed a male wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt and surgical mask exit the passenger side of a Mercedes with dark-tinted windows. He walked up a driveway to attempt to enter a 2014 Porche. The vehicle was secured, and the suspect was unable to gain entry.
