An update to the Nixle advisory message on Tuesday 4/5/22:

Police officers from Summit and neighboring towns were unable to locate a suspect who fled on foot after an attempted car theft on Hobart Avenue late Tuesday night. The suspect vehicle that fled the scene was located by Union Police Department after being crashed. It was found to have been stolen earlier in the evening from Greenbriar Drive in Summit. The owners were unaware of the theft until they were notified by Summit Police. The vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside when it was stolen; a second car in the driveway was also unlocked with the key fob in it.

Please always lock your vehicles and remove your keys. The safety of the entire community is impacted when you don’t.
