To help improve the health of city trees in the municipal right-of-way, Shade Tree Advisory Committee volunteers will be pruning tree suckers during its annual spring cleanup. Tree suckers are odd branches that grow at the base of the tree and should be removed as quickly as possible as they will sap energy away from the healthier and more desirable branches on top.
