The Summit Fire Department is advising that as power is restored in neighborhoods throughout Summit, residents should use extra caution around fallen wires that may have been re-energized with electricity. The SFD has received numerous calls about live wires in streets and urges residents to please stay away from wires on the ground that could cause serious injury if contact is made.
The Municipal Transfer Station is expanding it hours to open on Monday, August 10 from 7:30AM to 3:45PM for disposal of storm debris and household waste. Curbside pickup of storm debris will be on regular garbage collection days.
The outdoor charging station for electronics in the Broad Street east parking lot will be open tonight until 9PM (weather permitting) and again tomorrow from 8:30AM to 9PM Sunday. The indoor charging station at the Summit Community Center is open today (Saturday) until 9 PM but is closed tomorrow (Sunday).
