The New Jersey State Department of Health has informed the City of Summit that there are no new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus in Summit, NJ today. The total number of confirmed cases is 207. Additional statistics are available at https://www.cityofsummit.org/coronavirus.
Earlier today, Governor Murphy lifted the stay at home order but is requiring social distancing and continuing use of face masks. In addition: Indoor gatherings must be at 25% of building capacity or 50 people whichever is fewer. Outdoor gathering limits are increasing to 100 people (limits exempt when people exercising first amendment rights or when attending outdoor religious services). Guidance was also issued on how to safely open public and private pools on June 22 at 50% capacity. City officials will review state guidance to make a decision soon about how, when and if to open the Summit Family Aquatic Center.
