The New Jersey State Department of Health has informed the City of Summit of one new positive case of the COVID-19 coronavirus in Summit, NJ, bringing its total number of confirmed cases to 144.
The City of Summit is increasing the number of daily appointments at the Municipal Transfer Station from 20 to 40 hourly. Appointments can be made for Tuesdays and Fridays from 7:30AM to 2:30PM. Each appointment is for 15-minutes and must be scheduled in advance on the city website: https://www.cityofsummit.org/184/Transfer-Station or by calling 908-273-6404. When accessing the Municipal Transfer Station, residents must wear a face covering during appointments and social distancing is required.
The Department of Community Services is also expanding its Dial-a-Truck service, offered on the third week of each month, from 60 to 75 appointments. Call 908-273-6404 to schedule a free pick up for large, bulky items.
The milling and paving of Wallace Road begins this week. Milling will take place on Thursday and Friday, April 23 and 24. Paving will follow on Monday, April 27. All work is weather permitting.
