Renovation of Cornog Field House at Memorial Field Set to Begin Thursday June 15

The City of Summit Department of Community Programs is announcing its project to renovate the Cornog Field House located at 5 Myrtle Avenue on Memorial Field will begin on Thursday, June 15 with the installation of construction fencing. Work to renovate the building will begin on or about Monday, June 19 and continue through early September.

During construction, the Memorial Field playground will remain open but the public restrooms will not. ADA equipped portable restrooms will be provided. Visitors to Memorial Field are asked to follow all construction signs and barriers.

The cost of the project is $296,000 and is being funded through the City of Summit Capital Improvement Fund.  It was designed by Potter Architects of Union, NJ. Construction work will be completed by Spartan Construction of South Amboy, NJ.

The Cornog Field House was named for Elwood Cornog, a beloved resident, coach and veteran who was an active member of the Summit community.
