The Division of Public Works contains various units that maintain City streets, shade trees, storm and sanitary sewers, traffic signals, trash disposal, the Transfer Station, public parks, buildings, and grounds.
Public Works also efficiently maintains a large assortment of service vehicles and equipment to provide excellent maintenance in the City of Summit.
Did you know? Trash is collected weekly on your regular trash day, including all holidays. Curbside recycling is collected on Thursdays. The Dial-A-Truck program is an appointment-only service designed to assist the residents of Summit with the disposal of large, heavy bulky items at no cost.
Public Works manages the Municipal Disposal Area, the City of Summit Transfer Station where solid wastes and recyclables are collected and marketed, and where leaves are composted.
