SUMMIT FAMILY AQUATIC CENTER - POOL
The Summit Family Aquatic Center is the City’s “hottest place to cool off!” The campus is a beautiful, tree lined, lush environment with two major pools. The Main Pool is a long course, L-shaped gem that features a fully accessible ramp, a serpentine slide, drop slide and diving board. The Family Leisure Pool features a zero depth entrance and interactive water toys for families and young children. A Children’s Playground, Sand Volleyball Court and Food Concession make this facility a delight for members of all ages.
Click here for a panoramic view of the Family Aquatic Center
The Summit Family Aquatic Center is home to the Summit Sharks Swim Team. There is a wonderful Learn to Swim Program along with special events, concerts and social events. “Splash & Learn” events are scheduled throughout the summer months. Free Aquacise classes are offered for Senior Citizens. Community organizations provide education and recreation programs on site. The “Coffee House Sunday Nights” Concert Series is a big hit on Sunday nights in August. A complete calendar of activities is supervised by a Cruise Director; all for the price of your membership.
The Summit Family Aquatic Center opens for the season on Memorial Day Weekend and closes on Labor Day.
Go to our online registration site: https://register.communitypass.net/summit or call (908) 277-2932. Rates are established annually and become available in early spring.
MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE
In 1967, the Summit Municipal Golf Course was designed and constructed on 13 acres of land that was once a private estate. This award winning course is the gem of the Summit Park system. The initial design of the Par-3 was done by well-know golf architect Hal Purdy which consists of nine fabulous holes. Summit made history as the first community to open a municipality-built golf course in New Jersey.
The “Muni” is open early April through November. Memberships are available to Summit residents/taxpayers with several membership categories. A limited number of memberships are reserved for Union County and Chatham/Chatham Township residents. Call 908-277-2932 for non-resident membership information
Several golf tournaments are offered annually. The Youth Golf Tournament for children ages 8 – 15 is held in late September. The Victor H. Picozzi Senior Golf Tournament is held the first Monday after Labor Day. The Liberty Open is the course championship that begin in May and runs until the end of August.

PROJECT GRADUATION

With an attendance average of 98% each year, Project Graduation is an event that is highly valued by the Summit community, the Board of Education, parents and, of course, the students.
Funding for Project Graduation is a cumulative effort of student-run fundraisers and donations and grants received from parents, businesses and interested citizens. If you are interested in making a donation for Project Graduation, please contact Judith Leblein Josephs at 908-277-2932. |
