Summit Public Art
Bringing Art to Public Spaces in Summit
Established in 2002, the Mayor’s Partnership for Public Art is often known simply as Summit Public Art. It has placed sculpture at various public locations around Summit since 2004. Most works remain in place for about six months.
Summit Public Art also commissioned and installed art-glass windows in the three bus shelters on the Village Green.
Although it is a city entity, Summit Public Art receives no funding from the city for acquisitions or operations. It raises money through personal donations and public and private grants. As of the end of 2010, Summit Public Art had raised more than $175,000 to support its projects. Summit’s department of community services provides staff support.
